| We are exactly one month out from science fair #1 and I am bit behind schedule, but that's usual with projects like this. the goal is to get this up and running by the fair on the 28th of February. When I say up and running, I mean the robot actually moving and the live video and audio stream functioning. Like I said in a previous post, the bells and whistles can wait. As you can see in the images, I finished the construction of the controller case. It powers up and everything is functioning correctly. Its a very simple system composed of two 11.1v lithium ion batteries in parallel that supply electricity for the Beaglebone Black control board, USB devices (Xbox controller receiver, 4G modem with antenna, and the audio dongle that connects to the headset) and the LCD monitor. You can see an image or two that compares the old controller to the new controller. Quite a difference. this was is much more "neat" and user friendly. There isn't a spaghetti mess of wires like on the previous one. Controller V2 (I like the sound of that) is much more spacious as well. Large improvement over the last one. The rear wheel mount was also welded today. Pictures of the complete track system are coming in the next post. Also there are some other pictures of the fabrication shop I've been working at with the welder. |
