Computer Animated Design
I designed the mechanics of the robot in Solidworks 2012. I went through multiple iterations and tried out many different concept to see what would work best. This software benefitted in numerous ways. I didn't have this useful tool with the previous iteration so when it came to actually fabricating the second iteration, it was much smoother because it was well designed and I could foresee issues that may occur and come up with a solution before . It saved me loads of time and lots of money.

- The robot employs a independent suspension to traverse the most rugged of terrain
- Active track tensioning so when the track loosens, those wheels will keep tension on the track and prevent it from derailing.
- Proprietary track system that maximizes reliability while maintaining a high efficiency
- 5053 Aluminum frame for a light, but robust frame.
- Modular design that can be adapted for various rescue situations
- Completely waterproof with a single Aluminum shell enclosing the electronics inside.
- Easy access to all components for painless maintenance
- At 28" wide, this robot can easily navigate through doorways
- With a zero turn radius, this robot can get to areas other robots can't
- 5" of ground clearance with an Aluminum underbelly so it won't get caught up on rocks and other debris
- Collapsable rear compartment for easy access to install and remove SLA batteries
- Aesthetically pleasing
