As you can see, this is my first blog post. Welcome! I will use this blog to document the build process of 'Project VoltX' (iteration 2)
Today is day 4 of funding and we've raised $80 so far. I must say, I'm a bit disappointed with the progress made. We are supposed to be at $3900 in 27 days and I don't see us reaching that goal at the rate we're going. I suspect our project isn't appealing to the public because we don't have an actual product we can offer them. We can offer information and recognition, but no t shirts, stickers, etc. simply because we cannot afford them. We are poor students.
Luckily, ATK has offered us $1000, which is enough to get us the materials to fabricate a rolling chassis. That should occupy us for a few months until we figure out how we can pay for the rest of the parts. Hopefully, ATK didn't fund the full $3400 because they didn't want to put all their eggs in one basket and then if this flopped, they'd be out $3400. But, hopefully once we complete the rolling chassis, they will see that we do in fact have a firm handle on what we're doing and they'll fund the rest of it. We'll figure it out.
In the next week or two, we should be able to get started on welding the frame. I promise, things will get a lot more interesting to read then.
