| This weekend I was able to get the drivetrain done, which consisted of drilling the axle holes in the outside square tubing and mounting the outside flange bearings. This was a very crucial hole because if that outside hole isn't concentric with the pillow block hole, the drive sprockets could be out of alignment causing the tracks to derail. So I took meticulous measurements and got those holes drilled and it turned out perfect! I also mounted the idlers. There was just one minor problem. One support beam was too close to the dogleg so this will just have to be cut and rewelded an inch farther back. I am planning to have the tracks on by next weekend so hopefully I'll have it driving by the end of the week. Agenda next week - Finish mounting rubber pads on second set of tracks - Meet with welder to weld the supports for the rear sprocket. - Weld triangle gussets - Weld shock absorber supports |
